How is your summer going? Are you having fun? Are you making sure to treat yourself in the healthiest way possible just like you desrve? 🙂 …And, by the way, are you making sure to protect your beautiful skin from the sun? Not to be preachy, but I just had to mention that I very much hope that you never forget to use caution when you’re having fun in the sun because your beautiful skin deserves staying that way, doesn’t it? 🙂
OK. After having said all that let me now tell you that today’s post is not going to be about me always making sure to apply my favorite sunscreen. 🙂 It’s going to be about my two latest finds in the skincare world that I’ve been really loving lately! And let me tell you that when it comes to skincare I am very-very conservative as I don’t ever want to become a little “lab-mouse” who tries all those promising potions on herself without making first sure that they are real good!
Also as you may already know I like to keep my skincare routine nice and simple. It basically consists of me making sure that my skin is always moisturized, protected and clean. But. It’s not that I am not open to trying some new things! Especially if these new things make a lot of sense! Such as these two products that I’ve been really enjoying lately.
The Clarins Double Serum:
You might’ve already heard about the Double Serum by Clarins from such magazines as Allure and Marie Clair. This serum had been on their best-products lists for quite awhile and won multiple awards. But winning the best-products awards would still not be a good enough reason for me to consider adding a product to my dailty routine. What made me decide to give this serum a try though, was that it was recommended by one of my friends with very beautiful, youthful-looking skin. Finally I’ve been also sampling this serum whenever I passed the Clarins counter at the mall. And… I really loved what it did to my skin!
And viola! I decided to pull the trigger and purchased it! And you know what? My experience had been great so far! Oily, yet light, this serum hasn’t caused any irritation on my skin (and I just have to mention it: I tried a few other luxury serums that I’ve been getting the samples of and they did cause my skin to break out!). Instead it’s been helping my skin stay nice and shiny, hydrated and moisturized. Especially when I follow my mom’s favorite beauty-tip (to never ever wipe your face after rinsing it and apply the skincare products right on the wet skin to lock all this moisture on the skin’s surface!).
I usually use this serum right on my rinsed skin before applying my daily moisturizer.
The Beauty Chef Balm:
The Beauty Chef Balm was not recommended to me by anyone. 🙂 Nor have I seen it winning any reputable awards just yet. But. It just makes sense to me! And here’s why:
- It’s “clean”. By that I don’t mean that it’s organic or gluten-free. A cream does not need to be orgaic or gluten-free in my mind to do its job! By being clean in the case of this balm I mean that there aren’t any chemicals in it which may not change your skin drastically and overnight, but that will definitely not have a chance to hurt it either.
- Its texture. This is what works in this balm instead of all the latest-science novel ingredients! Its texture is silky and buttery. And although it may not affect your skin’s deeper layers, it will certainly keep the surface of your skin nice and smooth which will prevent it from developing the issues that will have to be treated on the dealer level such as wrinkles and lines by keeping your skin smooth and elastic.
- It’s very inexpensive. For its price (it’s $30) I believed that it was really worth giving it a try!
My favorite way of using it is to apply the little amounts of it on the driest spots on the surface of my skin which are usually around my lips and on my forehead. 🙂
So what do you think of all that? Have you ever tried any of these products? Have you been trying any new skincare products lately? I’d love to hear all your ideas, thoughts and suggestions in the comments below!
